On the occasion of the vibrant harvest festival, we celebrated “Thai Pongal”, which marks the beginning of the Tamil month of Thai. Pongal is a festival of gratitude that expresses our heartfelt thanks to nature, farmers, and the Sun God for blessing us with a bountiful harvest.

          On the occasion of the vibrant harvest festival, we celebrated “Thai Pongal”, which marks the beginning of the Tamil month of Thai. Pongal is a festival of gratitude that expresses our heartfelt thanks to nature, farmers, and the Sun God for blessing us with a bountiful harvest.

The celebration included various cultural programmes such as speech, kavidhai, dances  and traditional activities that highlighted the rich heritage of Tamil Nadu. The venue was beautifully decorated, creating a festive atmosphere. The children participated enthusiastically and thoroughly enjoyed the programme, making the celebration joyful and memorable for everyone.

Children from the KG to standard 5 categories actively engaged in the Samathuva Pongal celebration, coming together on the floor to enjoy a traditional Pongal meal served on plantain leaves. 

They enjoyed their preferred elements of the feast, which included Sweet Pongal, rice, sambar, rasam, poriyal, pappadam, ghee, and vada, emphasizing the cultural importance of this harvest festival. 

This communal dining experience not only fostered meaningful conversations but also strengthened interpersonal relationships, immersing participants in the vibrant traditions associated with Pongal.
